While Milan was not exactly our favorite destination in Italy it is a very enchanting city that offers travelers the perfect combination of history, culture, and art. We arrived in the city via train, which was a quick and affordable way to get there. Upon arrival, we were excited to embark on a walking tour of the city.
We signed up for a walking tour where we visited the Last Supper, which is one of the world’s most famous masterpieces located on the wall of the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie. We were amazed by how well-preserved the painting is, and it was a magical experience to be standing in front of the famous artwork.
After visiting the Last Supper, we continued on our walking tour and visited the astonishing Gothic cathedral, the Duomo. It’s a massive structure with over 3,500 statues and numerous spectacular details that make it an essential landmark of Milan. We were fascinated by the intricate architecture and found it to be an impressive sight. The stunning view of the city from the rooftop of the cathedral was also breathtaking. We also saw the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and the Castello Sforzesco.
Overall, we had a great time exploring Milan. The combination of the historical sites, art masterpieces, and cultural landmarks made our trip unforgettable. If you’re planning to visit Milan, make sure to add the Last Supper and the Duomo to your itinerary. There’s no denying that the city is a magical destination filled with incredible experiences waiting to be explored.
