Meknes, Morocco is a hidden gem in North Africa that offers a unique travel experience. The city is a blend of modernity and ancient traditions that come together to create an enchanting atmosphere.

Our next stop was the grand mosque, one of the city’s most important landmarks. It was awe-inspiring to see the elaborate architecture, intricate calligraphy, and exquisite tile work that adorn the mosque’s walls and ceilings. We took our time soaking up the serenity and spirituality of the mosque, and we left feeling rejuvenated and inspired.
On our trip to Meknes we started the day with a horse-drawn carriage ride through the historic medina. We were treated to spectacular views of the old town, with its winding alleys, colorful markets, and ornate buildings. We also had the opportunity to buy some exquisite handcrafted metalwork with inlaid silver and a beautiful handmade tapestry that will be a testament to our experience for years to come.

After a short break, we headed to Epicuria winery, situated on the outskirts of the city. The winery is surrounded by lush vineyards and boasts some of the finest wines in the region.
We were greeted with a wine tasting session and a guided tour of the premises, where we learned about the winemaking process and the history of wine in Morocco. We were impressed with the quality of the wine and the level of knowledge and passion displayed by the staff. It was a wonderful experience, and we left with a few bottles of our favorites.

On the final day of our trip, we visited the nearby Roman ruins of Volubilis. The site is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most well-preserved examples of Roman architecture in North Africa. We were captivated by the sheer size and beauty of the ruins, which included elaborately decorated houses, temples, and public buildings. We spent hours exploring the site, marveling at the engineering feats and the aesthetic appeal of the structures.
